Verified ReviewerMy insurance provider was changed fraudlently without my consent
I agreed to & requested Oscar Bronze plan at time of yearly renewal. I specifically said I did not want UHC or any other plan.
I have been going through stage 4 uterine sarcoma since 2022 and my physician takes Oscar Bronze they do not accept UHC plans. This is not the first time that a broker has changed my policy to UHC, to meet a commissioned sales quota. It is fraudulent and not knowing if someone at UUHC or An agent within Marketplace changing the provider from Oscar Bronze to UHC Bronze one because I did not nor would I agree to the change, nor did I request or inquire for a change to be made. That will be left for you company, marketplace & UHC to determine.
I do want to know when it is determined as this problem can not just be happening to me. Last time I had to go a month with out chemo, as im fighting for my life I should not be having to worry about someone changing my provider each month.
- Providers have good plans
- Selling personal information to foreign internationally country call centers and them repping as if they are employees of the usa government
Preferred solution: Compensation for stress, mental anguish My time spent that it takes to get it corrected.

Verified ReviewerMarketplace Health insurance
I'd never used it. I didn't even know I had it until I went to file my taxes.
I had to fill out a form for taxes because of having Marketplace insurance that I never ever used. Because of them, instead of paying just one dollar to federal, I now owe $941.00 to federal.
So, I'm paying taxes on something I never used. That is the most absurd thing I've ever heard of.

Verified ReviewerCancelation, horrible customer service
I signed up for new healthcare coverage on healthcare.gov, starting on January 1, 2025. I paid my January 2025 premium on December 8, 2024.
On January 2, 2025, I received an email from my new health insurance company, Medica, stating they are issuing me a refund. Why? I called Medica. They said Healthcare.gov sent a notification to cancel my new 2025 coverage.
I went to my emails, and I called Healthcare.gov. That agency canceled my new policy rather than my 2024 policy and sent an email stating they canceled my Anthem BCBS (my 2024 policy.) When speaking to a Healthcare.gov agent, they flat out lied to me on the phone. I have spent too much time on the phone trying to resolve their error. Customer service is a joke, horrific.
Looking back through your recorded conversations, I spoke plain, simple English with your agents. Fix your issues.
Hire competent people who know how to listen and perform customer service. Your company is gross.
- Horrible customer service
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Do not use healthcare.gov

Verified ReviewerTerrible, rude employees
Called to renew healthcare, I've never dealt with a more disgustingly rude employee, ever! Condescending, obnoxious...and so ghetto u couldn't understand a word she said, then she got mad at me for asking her to repeat herself continuously because I literally couldn't understand her! Made me repeat the entire application process several times and in the end denied me due to her own error...now I need to call back tomorrow and hopefully speak to a human I can actually understand who isn't a completely rude, obnoxious person to get this accomplished, I've dealt with better customer service from a collection agency for gods sake...do better healthcare.goc, because for now you suck badly...
- Cheap insurance if you can bypass their so called customer service
- Employees
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Avoid if you can
Written by monkeys, health plans by money grubbing *** This is not the solution, it’s a furthering of the problem
Better insurance. Less questions.
Dont be stupid. All you get is lots of bad options and if you dont like those you get to pay a fine. I mean where do I sign up?
No really where? the site is so clunky its hard to tell.
User's recommendation: Move to another country
Poor knowledge of plans and places you on hold when they can’t answer your questions
I have had Marketplace health coverage for 5 years and in past years the customer service agents were helpful. Currently I have called twice today and both representatives were not helpful, not knowledgeable about the plans and refused to answer my questions.
Instead the put me on hold for 20 minutes, claimed to have computer issues that I should call back after already being on hold for 20 minutes. I asked about provider availability for the 2025 plans and both representatives refused to answer my questions. One responded with gave you smoked in the last 6 months? What kind of question is that, that didnt have anything to do with the reason I called.
I spent over an hour on the phone with 2 representatives who didnt know how to navigate technology , didnt answer any of my questions and made up excuses or diverted from my questions.
How the *** am I supposed to select a health and dental plan when I cant even an answer about if there are providers in my area that accept the insurance. The find provider option was not helpful either!!!
Another government money grab!
$1100 a month, 7 different doctors all the time spent on the dr. Paperwork 7 different times, ALL DECLINED!
Oh we dont take that insurance even the lowest rated dr. Doesnt accept this garbage insurance.
User's recommendation: Avoid if you can!
There's nothing to do with getting coverage without having an income the coverage is to expensive and there is no help with individuals that are in need of healthcoverage
I submitted my application for coverage got denied and only options were unaffordable there was no assistance for any plans unless I had 300 to 400 dollars which being mentally unstable and having kidney failure and heart problems doesn't matter unless I have hundreds of dollars. I'd what to do
User's recommendation: Unless you make tons of money try another route
FRAUD!!!!
I was fraudulently signed up for health insurance through the "marketplace" I didn't find this out until I went to file my taxes. I submitted a dispute in February of 2024 and was assured it would take "45 days".
It has been 3 month with zero resolution. There is no one to talk to about it and no one can give me any information.
I had to submit an extension to file my taxes with absolutely no information or communication about when this may be resolved. The WORST experience I have ever had in my life.
Preferred solution: I want my amended tax forms.
Scandelous
How are you going to give someone a health plan and that someone pays for the plan and doesn't even give you insurance even though you paid it?
- No pros
- You lose coverage for unknown reasons
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: I would highly recommend not going through Obama care. SCAM

Verified ReviewerBeyond Harassment
I have just called the Attorney General and was told to call Department of Health & Human Services and after calling them, was told that they don’t handle that type of complaints. Called H*** and was told that I need to call the state Attorney General.
These people are ridiculous. I have called them and asked to removed from their list and was told that its taken care of and I shouldnt get anymore calls from them.
What a joke! Just counted the calls from different numbers each time I block them.
So far, just the month of December, I have received 191 calls, and as Im writing this, they just called for the 6th time since 9:30 a.m! I have reported them to the FTC and also confirmed that my number is on the Do Not Call registry.
- Harassing phone calls
User's recommendation: I wish I knew a recommendation, but I have tried calling any number I was given and they still harass me daily!

Verified ReviewerDisgusting resource
Disgusting people blowing up your phone without respect to anyone. Over 109 calls in less than an hour and zero help.
Finally did it on my own and someone I rejected went in and pretended to be me, canceling my health insurance. Disgusting way to practice!!!
- Forced on us have no other choice
- Fraud disgusting practices mass calls
Preferred solution: The person who canceled my policy to be held accountable. To stop the mass selling of your phone number!!!
User's recommendation: Stay away from this site
Recurring payment
I never wanted the service that he sold me in the first place. I've been getting recurring payments on my credit card since Oct of 2021 in the amount of $44.78.
