As part of their approval process, Healthcare.gov sent us a letter last month requesting income verification via one of these 6 methods:

1. 1040 Tax return (can be Federal or state). Note: It must contain your first and last name, income amount, and tax year.

2. Wages and tax statement (W-2 and/ or 1099, including 1099 MISC, 1099G, 1099R, 1099SSA, 1099DIV, 1099SS, 1099INT). Note: It must contain your first and last name, income amount, year, and employer name (if applicable).

3. Pay stub. Note: It must contain your first and last name, income amount, pay period or frequency of pay with the date of payment. If a pay stub includes overtime, please indicate average overtime amount per paycheck.

4. Self-employment ledger documentation (can be a Schedule C, the most recent quarterly or year-to-date profit and loss statement, or a self-employment ledger). Note: It must contain your first and last name, company name, and income amount. If youโ€™re submitting a self-employment ledger, include the dates covered by the ledger, and the net income from profit/ loss.

5. Social Security Administration Statements (Social Security Benefits Letter). Note: It must contain first and last name, benefit amount, and frequency of pay.

6. Unemployment Benefits Letter. Note: It must contain your first and last name, source/ agency, benefits amount, and duration (start and end date, if applicable).

On the exact same day we got the letter we chose #3 and uploaded to Healthcare.gov a full page pay stub provided by our employer from 2015. That was over 3 weeks ago that we uploaded it and now in today's mail we receive a Final Notice threatening cancellation unless we provide them with this information. We log back into their website and lo and behold, they've chosen to just drag their feet on verifying what we gave them. Called them up to get this rectified and was told that when they get around to verifying it then the matter would be resolved. On the other hand, if they don't get around to handling it then they'll simply cancel the subsidy and we'll have to go through the appeal process!!!!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

I have the same screwed up situation. I mailed by certified mail to be sure they got my tax form showing my income.

Now 3 weeks later still no word, or answer. have called 2x and got no answers as to why it says online that it is still needed. This is ridiculous.

I guess I should keep paying the penalty for not having insurance because these people have no training. I can't imagine how the rest of this process will be, since its starting out like this.
